Strength in Numbers

The recent trend in information technology and other highly competitive markets is towards mergers and acquisitions. Some companies are finding it difficult to compete with the giants, superstores, chain stores, or international conglomerates with extensive human and financial resources behind them. Many companies have merged with their competitors so that they can both survive and have a chance to compete. Others have bought out or acquired the competition in corporate takeovers and other friendly and unfriendly actions. By being part of a larger organization there is a certain advantage of size and resources. An instant client base, reputation, sharing of rights, copyrights and patents, and above all, knowledge, skills and experience. All this is usually to provide a defence against other companies that are doing the same thing and that are swallowing up the market due to size and overwhelming influence.

Not always what is expected

Mergers and acquisitions in many cases result in great disappointment for at least one of the parties. Mergers by the way they usually come about are really acquisitions since at the end of the process there will always be one party with control, and the one with the controlling shares wins. Layoffs, changes in policy and procedures, reorganization, relocation and downsizing are just some of the things that can happen. As an executive or founder in the acquired or reorganized company it can sometimes be disheartening when you feel loss of influence and to see all the effort, creativity, and long hours of building the business apparently being thrown away or totally ignored.

Merge without Pain

If you are in the computer service and technology industry one of the answers to these painful decisions and scenarios is to join with Computer Troubleshooters as a franchise. Planning for the future

Computer Troubleshooters is planning to expand its network worldwide and grow the national and regional franchise networks already started. As the numbers of franchises grow so will the benefits. Globalization can bring new opportunities as technology evolves and we are there to deliver, support and maintain it.

We are fast becoming a group of "business technologists" addressing all the technology needs of any business. Our franchisees are not limited in the technology they supply, service and maintain. Computer technology is everywhere we look, and it is still evolving at a rapid pace. We must prepare for the future.

The value of independence and freedom

An entrepreneur has many challenges as he builds and sustains his company. Usually the type of person that takes calculated risks, has confidence in his own abilities and is a team builder and leader among his peers. Through all this there are also basic values that he subscribes to, both ethical and moral. Perhaps the key values are those of independence and freedom. Wars have been fought over it, nations and lives have changed because of it. It has created more passion in the human way of life that any other value.

With Computer Troubleshooters you are given the independence and freedom that you want. You may want to try a new path, a new approach, or a new technology for your business. As long as you are within the ethically guidelines and few conditions of the franchise agreement you can take any course you want.

Independence and Freedom are all about taking chances, being passionate in a goal and then striving for success. This is your opportunity.

Globalization

Spanning the globe, Computer Troubleshooters is now establishing itself in multiple continents and 11 countries. Starting in Australia in 1997 there are now over 190 franchises worldwide. New Zealand, the obvious first point of expansion from Australia then the United States joined in 1998 and now is expanding rapidly. Singapore joined the countries represented in 2000, with Canada, England and Scotland starting at the same time. Then came Mexico, Dominican Republic, Portugal and Kuwait.

The potential for franchises in Canada is tremendous. Prospective new members may already be in business and wish to join our network. On the other hand they may be first time entrepreneurs taking those first steps into a business of their own. Others may be disenchanted with their current employment and wish to go into business for themselves.

Whichever way you look at it, decisions have to be made about whether you want to go it alone in business or with the help and experience of those that are around you and be part of a team that has its course set on matching the future technology growth.
